The Greater Killeen Young Professionals believe in doing our part to help keep our world clean and beautiful. Join us in pledging to take the following actions in our daily lives to achieve this goal!
I pledge to protect our environment and conserve energy and resources every day.
- Turn lights off when I leave a room.
- Turn off my computer, monitor and printer at the end of the day.
- Conserve water by turning off the tap while soaping my hands.
- Replace at least 5 incandescent bulbs in my home or office to compact fluorescent light bulbs.
- Be mindful when printing documents. I will only print when necessary.
- Recycle glass, paper, plastics and aluminum cans.
- Avoid buying plastic water bottles. I will use a suitable refillable water bottle instead.
- Use a reusable mug instead of disposable cups.
- Car pool and use alternate transportation when I can.
- Close doors and windows when buildings are being heated or cooled.
- Sign up to have my bills delivered using the “paperless” option when ever possible.
- Check tire pressure and have vehicles regularly serviced to maximize fuel efficiency
